Silk was born Fredericton New Brunswick Canada. Silk is the daughter of Peter who was an academic as well as Ilkay Silk who was a renowned actress as well as a producer, director, writer, teacher, and director of drama at St. Thomas University. Anna recounts some of her earliest memories of existence when she would go to watch her mother's performance during play rehearsals. Silk was a part of a variety of commercials when she was a kid. She received a Bachelor's of Arts at St. Thomas University in 1997. Theatre St. Thomas has produced two plays in the initial years: Seven Menusand The Kitchen. Silk moved to Toronto for acting classes to progress in the month of November 1999. After a decade, she moved in Los Angeles. Seth Cooperman was her future partner when she was introduced to him during an acting workshop in Los Angeles. In 2009 they were legally married in December of 2009. They renewed their vows on April 10, 2011 in Fredericton in the aftermath of their changed her religion to Judaism.
